# Setting Up Global CC Functions
Go to Setup => Control, then scroll past the first few functions to CC#80 Func through to CC#87 Func. These 8 CC messages can be assigned to a large list of parameters found in the RC-5 MIDI manual (page 14 of this manual: [https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/RC-5_reference_eng02_W.pdf](https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/RC-5_reference_eng02_W.pdf) ). For example,RHYTHM LEV1  controls the volume of the rhythm section. If you set up CC#80 with this, you can use your controller to send a volume value or even sweep through volumes with an expression pedal.
