Controlling More than 16 MIDI Devices

You can control more than 16 MIDI devices independently with the MIDI Output Mask feature. This is found under the Utility message type. MIDI channels only go up to 16, but by isolating specific MIDI messages to specific MIDI outputs you can artificially create more than 16 MIDI channels. In the example below, PC#1 goes to DIN5 and PC#2 to Omni 1 although they are both sent via MIDI channel 1.
