# Using the ML10X with Send/Return FX loops

If your effect device has a FX Loop, it is possible to use the ML10X with it so that you can move connected effects in and out of the FX Loop.

However, this is only possible in `Advanced Mode` due to the non-standard routing. This will not work when using `Simple Mode`.

On the effect device, a FX Loop has a `SEND` and `RETURN` port. You would to use the Send/Return ports on the ML10X for this, since the Inputs and Outputs would already connected to your instrument and amplifier respectively. Hence, the `SEND` port on your FX Loop needs to be connected to a `RETURN` port on the ML10X, and the `RETURN` port on your FX Loop needs to be connected to a `SEND` port. This is different from how you would connect a standard effects device, where you would connect the `SEND` port on the ML10X to the `INPUT`, and `RETURN` port to the `OUTPUT`.

In the diagram below, we are using the KMA Tyler as an example, where it has 2 FX loops (HP and LP). We have the `Input Tip` connected to the instrument, and `Output Tip` connected to the amplifier. For `A Tip`, we have the `SEND` and `RETURN` connected to the KMA Tyler `Input` and `Output` respectively.

Next, we connect the `HP FX Loop SEND` and `RETURN` to `B Tip RETURN` and `B Tip SEND` respectively. And also the `LP FX Loop SEND` and `RETURN` to `B Tip RETURN` and `B Tip SEND` respectively.

You can use the same ML10X Loop for the FX Loop, but in the diagram, it will be routed as above. Now, we have `C TIP` in the `HP FX Loop` and `D TIP` in the `LP FX Loop`.

If this is confusing to manage, you can also use 2 loops for each FX loop and it will look like such:
