Calibrating your Expression Pedal on the MC6 MK2

The Omniports need to be calibrated in order to work properly with your expression pedal.

A wrongly calibrated expression port will result in behaviours such as

  1. Expression value jumping between 0% ane 100% only
  2. Short travel where the expression values are concentrated on a small part of the sweep.

Setting up the Omniport

For the MC6 MK2, you will need to set the desired Omniport to Expression. Save the settings and then restart the controller.

After the controller has restarted, connect to the editor again and navigate to the Controller Settings page. Open the Configure Omniports section.

Before you click on Calibrate Expression Pedal, please move the expression pedal that you want to calibrate first. This will make the Omniport as the Last Active omniport.

For example, if you want to calibrate Omniport 2, move the expression pedal connected to Omniport 2 first, before clicking on Calibrate.

Then, click on Calibrate Expression Pedal to calibrate that Omniport.

Calibrating the Omniport

After starting calibration, the MC6 will show this page, which allows you to select between Voltage Divider and Rheostat. This depends on the Expression Pedal that you are using. Most expression pedals are Voltage Dividers.

Next, set the Heel Down value. Move your expression pedal to the Heel Down position. Then press Next.

Next, set the Toe Down value. Move your expression pedal to the Toe Down position. Then press Next.

After this, the calibration will be complete. You should be able to get the full range of values when moving your expression pedal.
