[Editor] Edit MIDI Channel Settings

Overview

The Edit MIDI Channel Settings section under the Controller Settings tab in the Editor allows you to edit parameters related to a specific MIDI channel

Name

The **Name **textbox allows you to assign a name to that MIDI Channel, so that it appears in the Editor when editing presets.

Remap MIDI Channel

This parameter allows you to remap all outgoing MIDI messages on a MIDI channel to a different channel.

In the example above, MIDI Channel 1 has been remapped to MIDI Channel 4. That means that for all MIDI messages that are sent by the MIDI Controller on MIDI Channel 1, will now be sent on MIDI Channel 4 instead. This is useful when you need to change a MIDI Channel on one of your devices but already have a lot of Presets programmed for it. This will allow you to just remap it to the new MIDI Channel without having to edit all your presets.

Engage / Bypass

This feature is related to the Multi Engage/Bypass message type. Here, you are setting an Engage and Bypass CC message for each MIDI channel / device, according to its MIDI implementation chart.

Then, in the Multi Engage/Bypass message type, you can select which channel / device you want to send an Engage or Bypass message out to.

Select Output Ports

This section allows you to set what Port a MIDI message should be sent to. By default, MIDI messages are sent out on all ports. If, for any reason, you do not want a MIDI message on Channel 1 to be sent out on the USB port, for example, you can just un-select the USB Device options for MIDI Channel 1.
