MIDI Controller keeps restarting
There are a few possible causes if your MIDI Controller keeps restarting in a loop.
MIDI Loop
A MIDI Loop happens when MIDI signals travel in an infinite loop in your setup. You may have connected the MIDI Output back to the MIDI Input, and if MIDI Thru is turned on, the MIDI signals will travel in an infinite loop, causing performance issues and reboots.
MIDI messages triggering certain functions
If you have the MIDI Controller connected via USB, or have a MIDI Signal connected to the MIDI Input on your MIDI controller, it might be receiving CC or other messages from your computer or mobile app, or from a connected MIDI device, and that might be triggering certain functions on the Morningstar MIDI Controller.
A reboot will happen if a stream of CC messages is sent to the MC that is triggering the Engage Preset function, for example. You can test for this by disconnecting the MIDI Inputs on the Morningstar MC, and setting the MIDI channel to Disabled, and check if the reboot still occurs.
