Device Engage/Bypass Message Type

Overview

The Device Engage/Bypass feature allows you to easily map CC messages that control your device's Engage and Bypass functions, and then using a single message type to set the Engage/Bypass functions in all your selected device.

MIDI Channel Settings

To map your device's Engage/Bypass functions, go to the Edit MIDI Channel Settings under the Controller Settings tab. You'll see that for each MIDI Channel, you can set the CC number and value for Engage and Bypass.

For example, if I had my Timeline on MIDI Channel 1, I will set my Engage message to CC#102 value 127, and my Bypass message to CC#102 value 0, as per their MIDI implementation

Device Engage/Bypass message type

Go to your preset settings and look for the Device Engage/Bypass message type:

There are 3 options under Type, which are Engage, Bypass and Set

Engage

Mapped Engage CC messages will be sent to checkmarked devices. Unchecked devices will be unaffected.

Bypass

Mapped Bypass CC messages will be sent to checkmarked devices. Unchecked devices will be unaffected.

Set

Mapped Engage and Bypass messages will be sent simultaneously. If a device is checkmarked, its Engage CC message will be sent to it. If left unchecked, its Bypass CC message will be sent to it. If the Engage or Bypass feature is not enabled for a particular MIDI channel then nothing will be sent for that channel's device.
