Disassembling the ML10X

ML10X with pin header as connectors

In the earlier ML10X design, we used box pin headers to connect the Audio Processing board to the MCU controller board.

1. Remove the 4 screws holding the back plate and remove the back plate on the ML10X
2. Use a pair of tweezers or small screw driver to push the connector up to remove it.

ML10X with FPC cable

We refreshed the ML10X and changed the connector to an FPC cable in 2024.

Lift the flap on the FPC connector

The FPC cable can then be removed

Do note that the FPC cable does not need to be removed from the Controller board.

3. Slightly loosen the 12 nuts on the audio jacks of the ML10X
4. Push the circuit board out and then slide it out towards the right. You might need to wriggle it out.

5. After which, you can loosen the nuts on the audio jacks and remove the audio jacks. Do note that each audio jack circuit board is different, so if you are replacing this part, please make sure you are using the correct board.

Assembling the ML10X

1. Fit the top and bottom audio jack boards into the ML10X first.

2. Slide the Audio Processing board into the enclosure

3. Connect the Audio Processing board to both Audio Jack boards. There are 4 different connectors to attach the Audio Processing board to. Push the Audio Processing board into the connectors by holding the board from both sides.

4. Connect the Ribbon Cable to attach the Controller Board to the Audio Processing board.
