Patch Share – Share and Discover Community Presets

Patch Share is a feature in the Morningstar Editor that allows users to upload, browse, and download preset and bank files created by the Morningstar community. It’s a fast way to discover controller setups for specific pedals, amps, loopers, synths, and workflows — or to share your own creations with other users.

Tips for Better Shared Patches

  • The target device model
  • Firmware requirements
  • MIDI channel information
  • Usage notes
  • Required controller settings

Good descriptions make it much easier for other users to understand and adapt your setup.

Common Questions

Can I edit downloaded patches?

Yes. Downloaded patches behave exactly like normal presets and can be modified freely in the Editor.

Can I upload patches from different profiles?

Yes. Patch Share uploads are based on exported JSON files, not editor profiles.

Are patches firmware dependent?

Some patches may require newer firmware versions or specific controller features. Always check the description and ensure your Editor and firmware are up to date.

Troubleshooting

Editor Connection Issues

If your controller is not detected:

  • Refresh the MIDI device list
  • Enable Web MIDI permissions
  • Use Chrome, Brave, or Opera
  • Update to the latest Editor version
